July 19 is election day, are you ready?

The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. As part of its mission, LWV has created VOTE411.org, a one-stop shop for election-related information, including poll locations, candidate information, and much more. Whether you are still undecided or need more information, VOTE411.org is a tremendous, free resource that supports the democratic process.

Want to learn more about the new Arts Relief Grants from the Maryland State Council? Join the MSAC staff on Tuesday, July 19, at 9 a.m., as they discuss the organization’s plan for distributing $40 million in Arts Relief funding to Maryland's arts sector in FY2023. In this hour-long session, different components of the plan will be reviewed. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion about what the sector is facing in the coming year, as well as ask questions pertaining to accessing the Arts Relief funding. MSAC's Arts Relief funding will help to provide economic stability to Maryland's arts sector as it continues to navigate the effects of the COVID pandemic. The funding includes a mix of increased general operating support for organizations, additional funding for existing MSAC grant programs, and a pilot grant program to support working and living expenses for Maryland artists.

Congratulations to the 17th-annual Janet and Walter Sondheim Art Prize finalists Maren Henson, Megan Koeppel, and James Williams II! Their work will be on view in a special exhibition at The Walter Art Museum from July 21 through September 18, 2022.The Sondheim Art Prize awards a $30,000 fellowship to assist in furthering the career of a visual artist or visual artist collaborators living and working in the greater Baltimore region.
