Sign up to volunteer with the Herring Run Park Archaeology Project!

Learn more about the history and archaeology of northeast Baltimore by volunteering to process artifacts from the Herring Run Park Archaeology project. This project is organized by the Northeast Baltimore History Roundtable and Baltimore Heritage with support from Preservation Maryland. Additional project partners include the Archaeological Society of Maryland, Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, Baltimore Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation, and Friends of Herring Run Park.

The lab work will take place on Saturday afternoons from 12:00pm to 3:00pm between August 22 and September 26 at the Natural History Society of Maryland, 6908 Belair Road, 21206. Space for volunteers is limited to five people on each date so please select the date that works best for your schedule. We hope to offer additional volunteer opportunities throughout the fall.
