Executive Director’s Letter
August 9, 2022
Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA) is a leading nonprofit provider of services to artists and cultural organizations in the region. Whether they are emerging or established, mainstream or underground, grassroots or institutional, GBCA believes in unifying and strengthening the entire creative community.
Special to us are those individuals and organizations who join GBCA as members to express their support of our work on their behalf. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to our newest GBCA member, Hotel Ulysses. This boutique hotel in Baltimore's Mt. Vernon neighborhood will open this fall.
If you're interested in learning more about GBCA member benefits or renewing your GBCA membership, you can:
Who are some of our other members and how can you connect with them? Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra, Shriver Hall Concert Series, Maryland Art Place, Port Discovery, and The Peale have recently posted a variety of opportunities, including internships as well as exciting artistic and administrative positions to JobsPlus.
The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA), where the GBCA staff recently visited, will be closing its incredible Joan Mitchell retrospective this Sunday, August 14, so don’t wait to get your tickets. This exhibition features 70 of Mitchell's works—from rarely seen early paintings and drawings to multi-panel masterpieces that immerse viewers with their symphonic color.
We also visited The Voxel, a theater, incubator, and resource for performing artists in Baltimore and across the country. To learn about their classes and other announcements, you can subscribe to their newsletter.
GBCA is so grateful to our member partners, and we are inspired by your work. Today and every day we celebrate your essential contributions to the social fabric and human spirit of our region. Thank you for being the beating heart of the Greater Baltimore Region!
All my best,
Jeannie
