Executive Director Letter 2/22/22

It’s coming! GBCA is proud to be supporting the 19th Annual CityLit Festival A Live & Virtual Celebration of Literature, a month-long celebration for readers and writers. Events will take place throughout the month of March, culminating on April 1, 2022. The tradition continues with a feast of talented writers and thought leaders and includes special workshops for writers to hone their craft.

GBCA is thrilled to be sponsoring THE 1619 PROJECT: CONFRONTING HARD TRUTHS with Keynote Speaker Nikole Hannah-Jones (The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story & Born On the Water) with moderator Martha S. Jones at The Enoch Pratt Free Library. The event will take place both virtually and in-person on March 12. Dr. Hannah-Jones’ journalism is among the most consequential journalists in contemporary social and political American life. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear her speak live with Dr. Jones. Jones is author of Vanguard: How Black Women Broke Barriers, Won the Vote, and Insisted on Equality for All and is a noted historian and Johns Hopkins University Scholar.
