Artists are invited to submit original works in accordance with the theme “Mapping the World” for Enlighten Art’s First Juried Art Show.

Enlighten Art, located in Rockville, MD, is a brand-new art education program and gallery whose mission is to cultivate independent learners and ENLIGHTEN their understanding and connection to their world through visual art. The program and gallery will provide innovative, comprehensive educational experiences for children and families. The show is set to begin on Saturday February 15th, opening 2-5pm, and will help to launch the gallery and connect the community with artists such as yourself.

“Mapping the World” revolves around adventures, geography, explorations and vacations. Artwork could include subjects and/or content about maps, journeys to faraway lands or global explorations. The show should spark the imagination and intellect of our students, parents and visitors’ minds.

Guidelines for accepted works are as follows:

– 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works accepted, with an exception of video and installation
– Artwork dimensions cannot exceed six feet in any dimension
– Family friendly works with contemporary influence
– 2-dimensional works must be ready to hang

Exhibition Timeline:

Artists are invited to submit photographs of NO MORE than 3 works, identified with name of artist, medium, size, date of creation to [email protected] by January 24th.

Announcement of accepted artists will occur on January 27th.

Drop off for the exhibition will be from January 31st to February 2nd.

The exhibition will run from February 15th to March 15th.

Opening: February 15th from 2PM -5PM, all accepted artists will be invited to a roundtable artist talk from 3PM – 4PM

Closing: March 15th
