8th Annual Juried Exhibition at Gallery 110, Seattle, WA (February 1st - 24th, 2018)

Juror: Sara Krajewski, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Portland Art Museum

8th Annual Juried Exhibition February 1-24, 2018

Gallery 110’s annual juried exhibition will showcase work by emerging and established artists. Our gallery location and reputation offer artists exposure to professional reviews, access to Seattle’s Pioneer Square gallery district and First Thursday Art Walk.

Sara Krajewski is the Robert and Mercedes Eichholz Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Portland Art Museum. Arriving at PAM in 2015, Krajewski relaunched the Miller Meigs Series of Contemporary Art Exhibitions with Josh Kline: Freedom, a project at the intersection of technology, politics, and activism and organized the retrospective Andy Warhol: Prints from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his Family Foundation. From 2012 – 2015 Krajewski was the Director of INOVA (Institute of Visual Arts) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she curated an array of interdisciplinary exhibitions and performances with artists such as Xavier Cha, Mateo Tannatt, and Morgan Thorson. Krajewski was curator at the Henry Art Gallery, Seattle from 2004 – 2012 where she focused on solo artist projects (Matthew Buckingham, Andrew Dadson, Jeffry Mitchell, Walid Raad, among others) and group exhibitions exploring photography’s impact on visual culture (Image Transfer: Pictures in a Remix Culture and Viewfinder). Krajewski is the recipient of a 2012 Curatorial Fellowship from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts for research into emerging transdisciplinary artistic practices. She has held curatorial positions at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and the Harvard Art Museums.

Finalists’ works will be displayed at the gallery from February 1 through February 24, 2018. The juror will award first, second and third place to the recipients: $500, $300 and $200, respectively.

This international juried show is open to artists 18 years of age and older. Artwork may be in any two or three dimensional media and must be original works of art by the artist submitting the entry.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: 10:00pm (MT) October 30, 2017.

The fee is $35 for 3 entries. Add $10 for each additional piece. Payment must be in US dollars. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Entries accepted for exhibition must have a professional appearance. Two-dimensional artwork must be mounted with hanging wire or other hanging apparatus and immediately ready for the wall. The gallery reserves the right not to hang accepted works if they are not presented in the format specified. For artwork weighing more than 35 pounds, please contact the Director ([email protected]) to ensure your work meets gallery presentation requirements. Artists may not substitute another work for the accepted work. Entries must be for sale and priced with the intent to sell. A gallery commission of 50% will be deducted from sales. Artists grant permission to Gallery 110 to reproduce accepted artwork for promotional uses in both printed and electronic forms.

A list of finalists will be posted on our gallery website in early December 2016. Finalists will be notified by email. Artists whose work has been selected will be responsible for the framing and delivery of work to Gallery 110 by January 22, 2018.
