Maryland Primary Elections Are Coming Up, What's Next?

The momentum is building for voters who care about arts and culture--those who understand that when given access, the arts change peoples' lives. Many of you helped demonstrate that power by attending the standing-room only mayoral forum on March 7. As a result of your engagement and the efforts of Citizen Artist Baltimore (CAB), ALL of the leading candidates have responded to the community generated arts questionnaire. You can check out their responses on the CAB website. While you are there, take the pledge and add your name to the growing list of arts voters. The greater our numbers, the greater our influence.

What’s next?

The deadline to register to vote is April 5, at 9:00 pm. Let’s make sure that, as many arts voters as possible are eligible to participate in the upcoming primary.

More important information:

Select a party affiliation
The primary is a closed election meaning that only those affiliated with any of Maryland's recognized political parties (Democratic, Republican, Green, and Libertarian) can vote in the Primary Election. Independent/unaffiliated voters cannot vote in the Primary Election. Click here for more info.

Update your address or change your affiliation
With that in mind, today is also the deadline to change your address or affiliation. To update your address before the next election, please use Maryland's Online Voter Registration System (OLVR) or submit a voter registration application or written notice with your new address.

Know your rights
For information on the voting rights of former offenders, you can Learn more from the ACLU.

Now that you are up-to-date, mark your calendar for the April 26 election!
