RUBYS Artist Update - Media Arts - ellen cherry

2015 grantee ellen cherry received a Ruby to support the filming of Holey Land, a ten-minute “crankie” (hand-cranked puppet piece) created by artists Valeska Pupolah. While she working on this project, cherry continues to compose and perform, and can be seen next at the Creative Alliance. Come see cherry on Saturday, March 26 perform her latest work, Portraits in Song, a live performance of eleven original songs inspired by the stories of powerful women in history. More information and tickets may be purchased here.

The Rubys Artist Project Grant program was established by GBCA in 2013 to support the region’s gems - the local creative community of performing, visual, media and literary artists. Created with the vision and initial funding from the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, the Rubys value art making at the idea stage and supports local artists here and now.
