Yes, we know. It’s not even October and already we’re talking Halloween. But we blame all the grocery stores already trotting out their pumpkin-shaped Peeps andghost-themed breakfast cereals. We’re just keeping up with traffic. And there’s so much to love about Halloween that we think starting early can’t really hurt. After all, it’s a holiday with no gift shopping and no elaborate meals to prepare. Just decorating, getting into the fall spirit, and playing dress up. And thanks to Mud and Metal, we can also get our arts and crafts fix in, too. Mud and Metal is definitely one of our go-to spots for unique gifts and fabulous, functional art. The gallery is filled with jewelry, decor, and all kinds of treasures made by talented artisans from all over. But through Halloween it will also feature work by any of us who fancy ourselves artists but don’t always get the opportunity to fully dive into our creative sides. Mud and Metal’s Halloween Mask Competition has kicked off, and submissions will be taken through the 28th (of this month– that’s this coming Sunday). All you have to do is make a mask and bring it in. Simple. Once all masks are submitted, Mud and Metal will display them for voting during the entire month of October, with winners announced at Halloween Fest. Enter if you dare.
Mud and Metal is located at 1121 W.36th Street in Baltimore. For details about the mask competition or more information, visitwww.mudandmetal.com.
