GBCA is excited to share the news that 2014 Rubys grantee in performing arts, Pat Montley, has been named a finalist in the Women’s Words contest sponsored by Pride Films and Plays, for Kali Dance—a mystery play exploring the intersection of Hindu and Christian beliefs about death. She will receive a $400 prize and her play will receive a staged reading at Women’s Words Weekend, September 19-21, at Center on Halsted in Chicago. http://pridefilmsandplays.com/womens-words-finalists-announced/

And in related news, Pat has engaged long-time Center Stage dramaturg James Magruder to dramaturg her Rubys project Pope Joan II. Thanks to several feedback sessions, Pat now has a reading-ready (8th draft) script.

GBCA congratilates Pat on this recent recognition and we are looking forward to experiencing the final draft of Pope Joan II.
