Rubys Grantee Lynn Cazabon awarded Fulbright and will participate in 2014 inClimate!

GBCA is excited to share that 2014 Rubys grantee in media arts, Lynn Cazabon, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar Award to teach and create new work for a semester in Liepaja, Latvia in Spring 2015. Lynn will be hosted by Liepaja University, where she will develop and teach classes centered on Photography and Public Art in their New Media Arts Program.

Equally exciting, Lynn was selected to participate in inClimate, a multi-site, year long exhibition that is taking place across the boroughs of NYC. For her commission, Lynn is working with a community organization in the Bronx to add a new chapter to her ongoing project Uncultivated. Her work there will include collaboration with local students to create, among other things, a 'weed' garden consisting of edible plant species that grow well in the local environment as well as hosting a wild plant culinary workshop. A campaign of public displays will occur in the summer of 2015. InClimate is sponsored by Franklin Furnace. http://inclimate.org

Congratulations Lynn!
