Single Carrot Theatre seeks female actors of color

Single Carrot Theatre seeks female actors of color over 30 to audition for the role of the widow its upcoming production of Utopia Parkway by Charles Mee and directed by SCT's Artistic Director Genevieve de Mahy. Must be able to carry a tune, and must be willing to work collaboratively. The ideal candidate would be available for most rehearsals and all of tech and performances (pertinent dates listed below). Younger actors able to portray the spirit of an older woman are welcome to audition. The ability to play one or several musical instruments is a plus.

Pertinent dates of project:

Beginning of Contract: January 19, 2015

First rehearsal: January 19, 2015

Tech: March 20-24

Previews: 3/25-3/26

Performances: 3/27-4/26

End of contract: April 27, 2015

SCT’s general rehearsal schedule is as follows: Mondays-Thursdays 7pm-10:30pm, Sundays 1pm-5:30pm.

SCT’s performance schedule is as follows: Thursday-Saturday 7:30pm, Sunday 2:30pm.

Compensation is $200 for the project, two be paid within two weeks of the end of the contract.
