Advancement Manager at the BMA.

The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) seeks a full-time Advancement Manager to be an integral part of the BMA’s Advancement team. The BMA embodies a commitment to artistic excellence and social equity in every decision from art presentation, interpretation, and collecting to the composition of the Board of Trustees, staff, and volunteers — creating a museum welcoming to all.

The ideal candidate will support overall fundraising efforts for the Museum. This position will support the Senior Director of Advancement including, but not limited to, writing donor gift acknowledgements, conducting donor research, and supporting special events, including annual fundraising and cultivation events.

This full-time, exempt position reports to the Senior Director of Advancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct administrative support to the Senior Director of Advancement
  • Supporting the implementation of current and new efforts to achieve fundraising goals
  • Prepares reports and materials for Department and fundraising meetings, and tracks progress and assigned next steps on prospects
  • Works closely with the finance department to reconcile monthly and annual fundraising reports
  • Oversees trustee gift processing, tracking and acknowledgement
  • Track departmental budget and expenses
  • Manages the museum’s trustee portal – Boardable
  • Manages the trustee list ensuring that all information is current including but not limited to name, address, email, phone, etc.
  • Special event support as needed
  • When needed attend board meetings and provide administrative support, including taking of minutes
  • Coordinates departmental quarterly reprojections
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year undergraduate degree or professional experience equivalent
  • 3+ years progressively responsible experience in fundraising
  • Integral knowledge and involvement with a donor/contact management system (i.e. Blackbaud Raisers Edge/NXT)
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Adept at developing strong relationships
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office suite
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
