BMA seeks a Family Programs Educator

The BMA is seeking contract art educators to lead the BMA’s Free Family Sundays workshop series. Art educators will plan and execute drop-in art workshops for families. This role will work in partnership with the Director of Public Programs and the Education and Interpretation division to develop the program’s curricula and art-making activities, as well as lead the artmaking workshops.

Program activities are designed to encourage participants to think like artists through intergenerational artmaking activities inspired by works on view. Projects are designed to reflect the core elements, materials, and processes demonstrated in works from the museum’s collections and exhibitions.

The ideal candidates will be adaptable, collaborative and have the ability to teach and create across various mediums. Candidates will research works and artists on-view to develop accessible artmaking workshop projects. They will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to connect with program participants. These are temporary positions through the end of June 2024. Inclusive of 6 hours of on-site classroom facilitation time, 2-3 hours of on-site/hybrid preparation time and 3-4 hours of hybrid project development time. The total anticipated weekly commitment is 11-13 hours.
