Baltimore Clayworks Welcomes You Back!

Baltimore Clayworks Welcomes You Back

November 14, 2017

To the Clay Community, Neighbors, Public Officials, and Friends,

The excitement is tangible as classes began November 1. Joy is in the air as the Clay Community starts to fill classes and studios. Old friends are greeting each other, wheels are spinning, hand-builders are creating vessels, sculptors are forming both abstract and figurative work. The atmosphere is euphoric; artists, teachers and students are thrilled to have the ability to create ceramic art again.

In less than 1 month after the change in leadership of Baltimore Clayworks on September 26, community volunteers have come together in impressive numbers to restore the buildings, clean every surface, prepare the classrooms and studios, and ready the kilns for action. The Leadership Team is working hard on the administrative side of the organization. The new Board of Trustees is both governing and filling staff positions until such time allows for the hiring of more staff. Volunteers are also filling critical daily positions, covering front desk operations and assisting in marketing and event planning.

New class offerings for Winter 2018 will be announced this week. Come explore clay if you have never done so before. Assist in the office, or join one of Clayworks Committees. Shop at our traditional Holiday Sale from Nov. 18th – December 23rd. Join us December 10th at the Community Thank You Party, as we celebrate the work YOU have done.

WELCOME BACK, THE DOORS ARE OPEN. GET FIRED UP!

Sue Patz, on behalf of the Board of Trustees
