This rollicking comedy is history as you’ve never seen it before — without a single man in sight. Join a team of explorers as they tell the true(ish) story of the “discovery” of the Grand Canyon and upend everything...including their boats.
The UMBC Wind Ensemble, directed by Brian Kaufman, has celebrated performances with internationally celebrated guest artists including Glee pianist and music director Brad Ellis, Emmy-nominated composer and genre-bending violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain, The American Brass Quintet, Canadian Brass veteran Joe Burgstaller, international tuba artist Øystein Baadsvik, Cleveland Orchestra trombonist Shachar Israel, Marine Band co-principal oboe Trevor Mowry, former Marine Band clarinetist Randall Riffle, and UMBC Professor of Violin Airi Yoshioka.
Celebrating its 15th year, the hugely popular holiday show “Irish Christmas in America” brings a fascinating performance of music, song, dance and stories of seasonal Irish traditions. Produced by Sligo fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada, the long running show features top Irish music, song and dance in an engaging performance rich in humor and boundless energy. The 2019 tour features special guest singer Niamh Farrell, a Sligo vocalist who has toured with UK singer/songwriting star David Gray.

UMBC's Department of Music presents the Percussion Ensemble under the direction of Tom Goldstein. The UMBC Percussion Ensemble is a dedicated performing group of advanced percussion students. The ensemble is adventurous in its programming, with a repertoire that includes graphic-notation pieces, improvisational works, and theatre, as well as works by important early percussion composers, such as Alan Hovhaness, John Cage, and Carlos Chavez. The Ensemble has established a tradition of performing works by UMBC’s faculty and student composers, who sometimes include members of the ensemble.
UMBC's Department of Dance presents the annual Fall Dance Showcase, featuring student performances of works by faculty, students, and artists-in-residence.
Tickets: $15 general admission / seniors; $10 with UMBC ID.

UMBC’s Gamelan Ensemble, directed by Gina Beck, performs traditional Javanese music on the Department of Music’s Javanese gamelan.

Edward Polochick leads the BSO Symphonic Chorale in this holiday favorite, Handel’s Messiah, featuring the iconic “Hallelujah” Chorus.
The Department of Music presents the Jubilee Singers under the direction of Janice Jackson.
The performance will be followed immediately by the UMBC Gospel Choir at 8 p.m.

You might learn something, you might not, but you'll definitely leave full of laughter.
The New Wave Singers of Baltimore, Maryland’s Premier GLBTS Chorus, performs music that celebrates all of humanity in its infinite variations. Tim Gillham, Artistic Director, is starting his second year at the helm of the 60+ member chorus. Joining him in his new position as Accompanist is Christopher Schroeder.
