Online conversations every Thursday at noon starting May 14
Our world is shifting rapidly. We need to shift.
We at Artists U want to work through these shifts together. We want to build positive, rigorous conversations about surviving and thriving during and beyond this time of uncertainty.
Artists have much to contribute at this moment of crisis. By stabilizing our lives, we can activate our skills as artists to create things in our community and our world: new art, structures, connections, and futures.

The year 2020, in addition to being an election year, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment’s ratification and the 150th anniversary of the 15th Amendment’s ratification. MdHS’s upcoming virtual exhibition, Forgotten Fight: The Struggle for Voting Rights in Maryland explores the long, combative road that Marylanders walked to get their right to be heard. Dear Educators and Parents,
I am putting together a community poetry project for kids. Adults can play along too.
For several years, I have run an annual poetry writing project. For one month, participants receive a daily writing prompt related to a theme. (In 2014 we wrote in response to Pantone paint colors; in 2019 the theme was Food). The goal is to write and share a newly drafted poem with the group every day. It’s a way of practicing writing with others.

My on-site production crew consists of my 14 year old daughter and 15 year old son, and we are honoring Governor Hogan’s request and are doing this from home.
