An exhibit featuring artwork created by juried artists during Paint It!, an annual plein air paint-out in Historic Ellicott City, Maryland. The juror for Paint It! Ellicott City 2019 is award-winning artist Nancy Tankersley, who will offer remarks and present juror awards at the reception on July 1. The reception will also include a one-night exhibit of artwork created by community artists during the Open Paint-Out.

Do you know a child who loves to sing? Children’s Chorus of Maryland (CCM) will hold auditions on August 27th, 28th, & 29th and September 5th in Towson for children as young as 5 ½ who are interested in participating in an exciting choral performance program. CCM features highly qualified teachers, small classes and in-depth vocal enrichment to provide children with a complete musical education and choral experience. Crickets is a fun, play-based music and movement class for boys and girls ages 4 to 6. Trained teachers engage the body and the mind in joyful music-making through musical games and movement. Offered by Children’s Chorus of Maryland and School of Music (CCM), Crickets gently encourages young children to explore the voice as their first true instrument. Classes start Saturday, September 21st, 2019 starting at 9AM or 10AM in Towson. Classes are 50 minutes long, meet once a week, and last for 10 weeks. The tuition for the fall session costs $200.

The annual 4th of July Pet Parade and Animal Talent Show is coming up at The American Visionary Art Museum right next to Federal Hill on Key Highway - It is free to all! The parade starts at 9am and optional pet registration for our animal talent show opens at 8:30 am. The event time is from 8:30am - noon the same day.

Altar Ego is a completely self-contained 45-60 minute multi-sensory experiences for a group of up to five people. You are invited to a unique house party to learn more about your "model citizen" Vietnamese-American neighbor, and explore the boundaries between home and not home. Altar Ego and Project P.S. were created for an installation at the Peale Center called The Institute of Visionary History and the Archives of the Deep Now. The lucky few who attended were treated to an intense trip to another place and time.

Kevin Hutt, Jr. a native of Howard County, Maryland is a classically trained pianist and violinist. He studied piano with world renowned pianist Yuliya Gorenman and Violin with Dr. Teri Lazar. A former member of the American University Symphony Orchestra where he was associate concert master.

Maine native and Comedy Cellar regular, Emma is one of the top comedians in New York City. Emma made her late night debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2016 and has also performed standup on Fuse’s Uproarious, Seeso’s Night Train with Wyatt Cenac,and The Guest List and AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live. In 2017, Emma had the opportunity to record a set for the CNN series The History of Comedy. Later this year you can catch Emma on the MTV International talking head series Vidiots and the web series Gay Girl Straight Girl.
