Contrasts: An Evening With Alissa Roca And Jason Mulligan

Contrasts: An Evening With Alissa Roca And Jason Mulligan

Acclaimed soprano, Alissa Roca, and internationally performed composer, Jason Mulligan present an evening full of music that paints some iconic, and not so iconic, conflicts in new light; the wolf and the sheep, cat versus dog, a girl stepping on a flower versus a mythical man-eating plant. Come on a musical journey with us through classical art songs, musical theater, opera, and pop music from 1700 to modern day.

Alissa is currently based out of Dallas, TX where she has performed as a soloist with the Dallas Wind Symphony, Dallas Opera, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Comfortable in a wide range of styles, she is most well known for her performances of contemporary music having premiered over sixteen pieces in less than a decade. Jason is based out of Durham, NC where he is pursuing a PhD in music composition at Duke University. However, with a masters degree from Peabody he is no stranger to Charm City. The two have been collaborating regularly since the day they met in Miami, FL almost 8 years ago and they are excited to perform for the patrons of Germano's.

They will also be joined on a few numbers by Brian Tracey, a fellow Peabody alumnus and fantastic clarinetist who is sure to add an extra burst of excitement to the program. So join them for an evening full of old classics, neglected gems, and some occasional banter along the way!
