ABOUT AFRO PUNK BALLET
Levi, a brilliant military scientist with a unique spiritual knowledge of space and time creates a second sun. The unprecedented devastation of his sun brings the nation’s inhabitants near extinction. Levi’s unwillingness to face the realities of his creation, leaves his eldest daughter and successor, Corfaszia, to restore order to the land. Jakub, the younger of the two daughters, with a deep connection to the spirit world, is forced into exile.

The Baltimore Architecture Foundation in coordination with the Havre de Grace Arts Collective presents an “Early Women of Architecture in Maryland” exhibit at the Opera House and” Poldi Hirsh – The Artistic Vision of an Early Modern Architect” exhibit at Concord Point Coffee in Havre de Grace. The Exhibits runs October 1 to November 30.
Receptions are on Thurs., October 11 from 6-8pm at the Opera House and on Saturday, November 3 from 2-4pm at Concord Point Coffee (217 N. Washington Street, Havre de Grace).
Admission is free with museum entry, which is $15.95 for individuals two and up. Members and children under two enter free.

Now in its seventh year, OneBeat brings musicians (ages 19-35) from around the world to the U.S. for one month each fall to collaboratively write, produce, and perform original music, and develop strategies for arts-based social engagement. OneBeat begins with an opening residency, when Fellows collaborate to create original material, record new musical ideas, and incubate their projects. OneBeat fellows then go on tour, performing for a wide array of American audiences, collaborating with local musicians, and leading workshops with youth.

Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Alex Brown is emerging at the forefront of a new generation of artists. The New York Times says he plays “with a crystalline touch and a worldly approach.” He has played with revered Latin Jazz great Paquito D'Rivera since 2007 and contributed arrangements to D'Rivera's Grammy award-winning album Jazz Meets the Classics. Brown has performed at many of the world's greatest venues including Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
