Maryland on Film V

Maryland on Film V

The Maryland Historical Society presents “Maryland On Film V,” a celebration of Maryland history, culture, and people on Oct. 6, 10 am-4 pm. This year’s free program features doc shorts by Baltimore Youth Film Arts, John Benam, Charles Cohen, Skizz Cyzyk, Ole Elfenkaemper & Kathrin Seward, Michael Faulkner, Taylor Hebden, M. Holden Warren, Stephen Johnson, Amy Oden, and Jill Yesko.

“Maryland On Film V” explores the world of Baltimore’s Arabbers and Maryland musicians with a pair of films on each topic. It ponders the cityscape and then deep dives into the realm of hospitality activism and minor-league baseball, with the Baltimore premieres of short films about Viva House Catholic Worker and the pre-major league Orioles. This year’s extra special treats include archival footage from the now-defunct Intertribal Pow Wow music and arts festival and trailers for upcoming Maryland-based docs.
