The majority of Make Studio artists have finally made it BACK to working in-person at the studio, with more returning throughout the summer. And our feelings about that are not small at all! In recognition of our artists returning to the studio, we are having a large sale - our biggest one ever - anchored by a big, lighthearted gallery show that celebrates the artists’ activities, aspirations, and preoccupations while they worked from home and looked forward to being back together.

This summer, the PLAY's the thing at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company! CSC HS ensemble members will gain valuable experience in working together to build a show as they rehearse and perform a play in our Downtown Theatre. Students will gain valuable experience in performance, textual analysis, language, history, and ensemble building as they rehearse and perform.

It’s time for the 12th Annual Casey Cares 5K Run/1-Mile Walk, taking place on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Casey Cares (7100 Columbia Gateway Drive) and this year, it will be IN-PERSON with an option to be virtual if one chooses. Individuals and teams alike are encouraged to sign-up and proceeds will go towards programs and services for critically ill children and their families. Registration is $40 and all participants will receive a tech shirt, race bib and finisher medal.

Crickets is back in person this fall! Sign up today at www.ccmsings.org. Crickets Music and Play Program, for children ages 4 to 6, engages the body and the mind in joyful music-making. Highly-trained trained teachers gently encourage very young children to explore the voice as their first true instrument through play, games, and movement. We offer small classes limited to 8 children each, and this fall it will run for 10 weeks with Thanksgiving week off.
Children ages 5 ½ to 12 are invited to audition for the 2021-2022 Conservatory Season! Young choristers attend live, small-group, fun music classes led by highly-trained instructors, all of whom hold master’s degrees in music education. Students participate in live choir rehearsals each week with our Artistic Director, one on one meetings several times during the semester for individualized feedback on singing development, plus tech-assisted, safely distanced in-person rehearsals as state guidelines allow.

We’re excited to announce the launch of the “Virtually Creative” after-school program.
The “Virtually Creative” after school program is an extension of our onsite programming that takes place at John Ruhrah Elementary/ Middle and Tench Tilghman Elementary/ Middle. In an effort to continue supporting our schools we are providing afterschool programming online. Each day, students receive homework help and hangout time to connect with friends. They will also have virtual Restorative Practice circles every Friday. Below is a detailed breakdown of the Virtually Creative schedule.
