Connect with the dancers, singers and musicians of DAB for an afternoon of creativity and conversation. After class you are welcome to sit in on rehearsal and dialogue about new works and signature repertoire.

The Voyager Ensemble (David Yang, Airi Yoshioka, co-directors) present much beloved French masterpieces as well as Baltimore premiere of Baltimore Sketches by eminent French composer Nicolas Bacri. Solenne Païdassi, violin, and Tristan Cornut, cello, hail from France for this French-inspired concert, which features Dutilleux’s String Quartet “Ainsi la nuit” (“Thus the Night”) — one of the most challenging, intricate, and dynamic works written for the medium.

Soprano Lu-Hsuan Lucy Chen will collaborate with guest pianist David Chapman performing art songs and arias that have been inspired by Eastern literature and Chinese folk songs. She will also be joined by the musicians with traditional Chinese instruments to bring a unique cultural experience to the audience.
Celebrate the Jewish composers of Broadway with song! From George and Ira Gershwin to Stephen Sondheim these composers have had a huge impact on Broadway in particular and American music in general. Sarah Baumgarten will be both performing some of our favorite pieces and giving us a little insight into their history.
With astonishing mastery of a broad scope of styles, pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard displays an unrivaled musical understanding and sensitivity. From Russian mysticism to the not-to-be-missed masterpiece Musica ricercata, Aimard’s range is distinctive in a program that concludes with Beethoven’s powerful “Hammerklavier” Sonata.
From the cover of the Spring Issue of Ukulele Magazine to the front page of The Wall Street Journal, Victoria Vox is making appearances everywhere—and rightly so. The artistry of her performances is both unique and endearing, captivating an incredibly diverse audience and drawing even the least musical of folks into her harmonious web. This evening, she’ll be accompanied by her husband, Jack Maher, who is an accomplished singer and guitarist. Recently married, however, the two met in 1998 at the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) where they both received degrees in Songwriting.
The exciting performing artist, Driko, plays solo piano to many Art Tatum tunes and sings songs from the American Songbook, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and other greats. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
