Bird City Improv teaches how to apply the principles of improvisation to facilitate professional and artistic development among peers.
The McGill/McHale Trio's remarkable program explores dances of all kinds: from the Hungarian Furiant and the American Charleston to today's pulsating Techno. Clarinetist Anthony McGill and flutist Demarre McGill are joined by Irish pianist Michael McHale for this lush program of French and American works recorded last December at New York's 92nd Street Y, augmented with remarks and a Q&A from the artists especially for the Shriver Hall Concert Series audience. The performance will be followed by an Artist Q&A.

Returning for the spring semester, Crickets is a fun, play-based music and movement class for boys and girls ages 4 to 6. Try out the first class without committing! Trained teachers engage the body and the mind in joyful music-making through musical games and movement. Offered by Children’s Chorus of Maryland (CCM), Crickets gently encourages young children to explore the voice as their first true instrument. Offered entirely online this spring- our next 6-week sessions start January 16th. Small classes limited to 8 children, with multiple start times!
Children’s Chorus of Maryland has spots open in our beginner choir starting January 2021 for children currently in Kindergarten through second grade. Young choristers attend live, small-group, playful musicianship classes Wednesdays & Saturdays, led by one of our Kodaly-trained instructors, all of whom hold masters degrees in music education.
