Concert Highlights Women who Stepped Up, Stood Out, and Pushed Back
Harriet Tubman, Marie Curie, Maya Angelou, Mother Teresa, Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan. Each of these famous women shook the world, breaking barriers and defying expectations. The names Wendy Kopp, Hildegard of Bingen, and Ruth Handler may not be as well known, but all three of these women challenged entrenched ideas to make an impact.
Terry Marshall and his band Bridges offer a tantalizing program for jazz lovers. Aided by two formidable vocalists and a solid rhythm section, the pianist and composer will deliver well-seasoned mix of jazz, Latin, and rhythm and blues. Listeners will enjoy his original tunes, "Teresa," a samba in 3/4 time; "Bridges," a medium-tempo bossa nova; and "Questions and Answers," employing various Brazilian rhythms. The program also includes "Being Cool," composed by Djavan and arranged by Terry Marshall. Two shows, 8:00 and 9:30.

Singer/songwriter Amy Helm, the late Levon Helm’s daughter, begins the evening with her soulful voice and original lyrics. Hot off the road from recent collaborations with artists including Ivan Neville, Steve Winwood and Sturgill Simpson, Baltimore-based singer-songwriter Cris Jacobs and his band will round out the evening exploring the outer realms of bluegrass, folk, funk, country, blues, soul, and rock with stylistic reverence and emotional sincerity.
Walk just a few blocks east from Baltimore’s Sunday Farmers Market and you enter one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city – historic Jonestown. On this tour of often over-looked landmarks, you’ll see handsome cast-iron buildings, hear how urban renewal transformed the community in the 1960s and 1970s, and get inside the famed Phoenix Shot Tower – the tallest structure in the United States until 1846. The Shot Tower stands out in Baltimore’s skyline as a reminder of our early industrial heritage and is a must-see for visitors and locals alike!
Join guitarists Michael Joseph Harris, Lucas Chohany and Sami Arefin as they celebrate the Legends of Jazz Guitar for this special Sunday brunch performance.

Herbert Dimmock conducts the renowned Bach Concert Choir and Orchestra in a performance of Bach's Cantata 36: Ein Feste Burg ist unser Gott featuring Kerry Holahan, soprano, Jessica Renfro, alto, Richard Kennedy, tenor and Jason Thoms, bass. Following the cantata, the Baroque Orchestra will present Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major. The Student Voice Exchange guest choir will be Archbishop Curley High School Choir.

Taught by Artistic Director, Nicole A. Martinell (MFA, CMA) and invited guests, workshops emphasize a somatic approach to intermediate-level modern dance technique, layering self-awareness with dynamic movement choices and personal artistry. Each workshop highlights and builds upon a particular theme, such as spirals, sequencing, exertion/recuperation, phrasing, and weight sharing. Students enjoy discovering their soma, taking risks, exploring the body’s capabilities, and integrating concepts into daily life all within a supportive environment.
