On Thursday, February 19, from 6:00pm–7:00pm at SU’s School of Design, Arts, and Communication Building, Nguyên Khôi Nguyễn will give a public lecture discussing his interdisciplinary creative practice and inaugurate the exhibition with a sing-along. Concurrent with this public lecture, guests will also have the opportunity to view his Sacred Animal Sing-Along exhibition in the School of Design, Arts and Communication Lobby gallery.

In Sacred Animal Sing-Along, Nguyễn explores themes of fertility, grief, language, Vietnamese American life, and fatherhood. The exhibition features four narratives: Still In Love (karaoke installation), In Our Own Time (graphic novel and installation), A Vietnamese American Picture Dictionary (illustrations), and Draw Me A Map (mural). Nguyễn invites viewers into emotionally complex terrain—yet always circles back to moments of wonder and delight.
