Artist-run venue The Compound will host a musical and visual art fundraiser for the Baltimore Beat, a Black-led and controlled nonprofit print newspaper. The event will feature performances by popular local musicians Outcalls; Glorian; DJ Ducky Dynamo; and visual art displays by Micah E. Wood, James C. Waller, and Kurt Astudillo; with more artists to be announced. The event is at 8pm with a suggested donation of $15; 100% of ticket sales and on-site donations going to fund the important work of the Baltimore Beat.

Sometimes you cry. Sometimes you do both.

A pair of romantic solo works from 1997 and Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 round out BCO's season of historic debuts. Adolphus Hailstork’s love for viola shines in his Two Romances, played by Principal Viola, Chiara Kingsley Dieguez, and Ellen Zwilich’s love song to the violin, the Concerto for Violin & Orchestra, is performed by concertmaster, Audrey Wright.

Celebrate Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington & singer Navasha Daya’s birthdays on Sunday, May 19th as we celebrate the music of the Great American Songbook and these iconic Jazz musicians!
Ella Fitzgerald was an iconic American jazz singer, sometimes referred to as the "First Lady of Song", "Queen of Jazz", and "Lady Ella". She is known for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing, timing, intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.

Charlotte's Web is based on E.B. White's loving story of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte. Wilbur has a problem: how to avoid winding up as pork chops! Charlotte, a fine writer and true friend, hits on a plan to fool Farmer Zuckerman. She will create a "miracle." Spinning the words "Some Pig" in her web, Charlotte weaves a solution which not only makes Wilbur a prize pig but also ensures his place on the farm forever.

Each month, we feature incredible writers in an intimate interview hosted by DevRock, a hip-hop and spoken-word artist with over 15 years of experience shaping Baltimore's musical landscape.

The Artist Exchange Media Hub is sponsoring a night at the theater featuring the production "SOULMATES," a theatrical mixtape written and directed by Troy Burton, with musical direction by Tevin Brown. This production focuses on the music of Nicholas Ashford and Valerie Simpson, showcasing love letters & soulful melodies. As a renowned vocal duo and married couple, Nick and Val's songs, ranging from their Motown days to their hits that earned them a place in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, will be performed.
