In conjunction with our neighbors at the German American Cultural Center of Maryland, we will be screening “Toni Erdmann” at The Peale. This movie is in German and will be played with English subtitles. Coffee and cake will accompany the movie.
“Toni Erdmann” is a 2016 award-winning German-Austrian comedy-drama film directed by Maren Ade. The film tells the story of a complex relationship between a father and daughter, exploring themes of family dynamics, corporate culture, and the search for meaning in life.
UMBC's Department of Music presents the UMBC Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Matthew Belzer.
The UMBC Jazz Ensemble is a large jazz group dedicated to the professional training and creative development of its members. Throughout the year, the group performs at concerts, special events and festivals. Student composers and arrangers have the opportunity to have their music read, performed and recorded by the group.
Admission is free, and tickets are not required.

The event begins at 4:30 pm with a recital by Choctaw guitarist Alexander Lassa performing portions of Choctaw composer Charles Shadle's "Wheelock Variations," based on Choctaw Hymns, followed by The Service of Evensong including music of Andrew Balfour (Cree) and Connor Chee (Diné).

This solo exhibition features works by Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) professor Chris Mona, including printmaking projects done in collaboration with Pyramid Atlantic Art Center founder Helen Frederick, who he began collaborating with in 2023. Mona, who also directs the Printmaking Studio at AACC, has received a grant from the Artists Space in New York and two artist awards from the Maryland State Arts Council. His work in painting, printmaking, drawing, and digital media is in public collections and has been shown internationally, nationally, and regionally.
