Shakespeare in the Square

Tad Janes, producing artistic director of the Maryland Ensemble Theatre in Frederick, Maryland, guest directs this adaptation of Carl Sternheim’s classic 1910 farce by comic actor and author Steve Martin. Set in 1910 Germany, Louise Markes, a housewife bored of her bureaucrat husband and their conservative existence, attends a royal parade, where a wardrobe malfunction causes unexpected attention.

Black Woman Genius Monologues
Enoch Pratt Library Penn North and Rise with a Purpose Present the “Black Woman Genius” Monologues. Based on the exhibit currently on display at Reginald F. Lewis Museum, “My Brilliance Shines Theater Troupe” will pay homage and tell the life stories of contemporary Black women fiber artists from the Chesapeake area.

Irvinville
Theatre LuDu proudly presents "Irvinville", an orginal storytelling performance from theater makers Kevin Duvall and Lucius Robinson. "Irvinville" follows the journey of a small-town American boy who watches his town slowly move underground after it wrongfully murders Mary the circus elephant. Duvall and Robinson, both graduates of the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theater, inhabit the town's worth of characters with nothing more than the words, themselves, and the audience.
BSO Music Presents: Alsop, Yuchan Lim, and Rachmaninoff
When the 18-year-old pianist Yunchan Lim became the youngest ever winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, he launched a global phenomenon, with more than nine million views and counting of his Rach 3 performance conducted by Marin Alsop. Now the BSO Music Director Laureate welcomes Lim to present Rachmaninoff’s stunningly gorgeous Piano Concerto No. 2. Alsop continues her role as a leading champion of American music, presenting the hymn-filled Second Symphony of Ives (a work premiered by her mentor, Leonard Bernstein) along with Carlos Simon’s bluesy AMEN!
