The work presents the similarities between the landscape and textures of paint. The exhibit will run from May 9th to May 20th, with a reception on May 11th, from 6pm to 8pm.
The student curators from UMBC include Valentina Anyanwu, Maggie Frost, Nicolle Konkel, Selene LaMarca, Sheila McFarland-Holt, Nicole Rohrer, Adam Stevens, and Kelly Thompson.

It’s glow time! Let’s learn about bioluminescence by working with a glowing bacteria. These brilliant “bugs” glow in response to oxygen or movement to create a mesmerizing glow effect. In this hands-on workshop we will get a chance to build and create gadgets (e.g. a tube that pushes oxygen through the bacterial culture with a push of a button) to show off this incredible property!

Join us for the official launch of the NONUMENT 01:: McKeldin Fountain app in McKeldin Square, the former home of the McKeldin Fountain, and participate in a public art project and demonstration of the value Baltimore residents place in their public spaces.
The demolition of Baltimore’s McKeldin Fountain in 2016 was a loss of both a unique public space and a valued representation of bygone brutalist architecture. It’s destruction, carried out with little public input, is but one of an escalating number of examples of public spaces that have been co-opted by private interests.
Following the official launch of the NONUMENT 01:: McKeldin Fountain app in McKeldin Square, please join us for an art exhibition on the 5th floor of the nearby 5th Fl MAP (Maryland Art Place) that will use the latest technology to further recall the demolished fountain.

A heroic warrior, Solor, who returns home from a recent conquest, is in love with Nikiya, a famous Indian temple dancer. The Ruler of the land offers Solor the hand of his beautiful daughter, Gamzatti, and Solor is unable to refuse. Gamzatti learns of Solor’s affection for Nikiya, and she sends her a flower basket containing a poisonous snake. The snake bites Nikiya, and kills her. In this scene, Solor dreams of following Nikiya’s shadow (La Bayadère) to the Kingdom of Shades where they reunite one last time.
