Seeking visual art & short films for our 8th annual Overlea ArtsFest Juried Show & Festival, held at Holt Park & Center for the Arts in Baltimore on August 11th, 12th and 13th.
~ No submission fees ~ Cash prizes for winners
All local artists 16 yrs and older who live, work or go to school in Maryland are eligible to submit for visual art. All local, national and international filmmakers 16 yrs and older are eligible to submit for short films.
EcoHope must exist alongside EcoDespair, but the arts can offer a path for renewal through visual and responsive engagement. The artist -activists in this exhibition are intercessors and illuminators--whether the work is conceptual, allegorical or metaphorical, or representational and specific, it examines and addresses systemic environmental failure through remediation, confrontation, education, personal lived actions of the artist, or simply by drawing attention and asking the viewer to respond.Curated by J. In partnership with PCs For People, Village Learning Place will hold computer classes for adults who seek to improve or learn more about the basics of computer use. Computer classes will be held Mondays, 5:30PM – 7:00PM starting April 17th and ending May 15th. Classes will take place inside the VLP Library at 2521 Saint Paul St, Baltimore, MD 21218.

Join the festivities and indulge in German and European culinary delights in the picnic area, Wine Garden seating area or chill out area with games to play with the entire family and friends.

Since its emergence in the Bronx in the 1970s, hip hop has grown into a global phenomenon, driving innovations in music, fashion, technology, and visual and performing arts.
A multi-media exhibit exploring the use of color, texture and form, featuring glass objects by Michele Rubin of Washington, DC; abstract watercolors by Shanti Conlan of Houston, TX; and stoneware by Vidya Vijayasekharan.

Evergreen’s new major exhibition, A History of Houseplants, explores the forces that sparked the Victorian obsession with houseplants, reveals how the trend manifested at Evergreen and in Baltimore, and examines how today’s houseplant enthusiasts both recall and differ from the Victorians of 150 years ago.
On view October 1, 2022-June 4, 2023. Gallery open Tuesday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-4p.m. Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
Admission is FREE and no advance registration is necessary.
Mount Vernon Virtuosi Season Finale
Our exciting Season Finale features MVV Artistic Director and internationally-renowned cellist Amit Peled in a world-premiere chamber orchestra arrangement of Dvorak's Cello Concerto. Also featured on the program is Victor Hebert's Serenade for String Orchestra. The orchestra will be led by conductor Barak Tal.

Highwire Improv returns to Old Line Spirits for another night of amazing improv comedy and delicious drinks from Old Line Spirits!
This is a rain or shine event - in case of inclement weather we'll be indoors in the stillhouse, but we'll plan to be out among the stars on Old Line's beautiful patio space.
About the acts:
Croc Talk is a house team of the Lou Costello Room and brings you super high energy improv with dynamic characters, wild situations, and lots of laughter.
Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950. It received nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics and won a bevy of awards, including Tony Awards, Drama Desks and Oliviers. Frequently revived, the show has been done with numerous all-star casts, including productions/concerts featuring Ewan McGregor, Jane Krakowski, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jessica Biel.
