The Municipal Art Society of Baltimore: Citizens Shaping the City Since 1899

The Municipal Art Society of Baltimore: Citizens Shaping the City Since 1899

The Municipal Art Society of Baltimore: Citizens Shaping the City Since 1899 with Charlie Duff, Planner and Developer based in Baltimore

What do Key Highway, the Olmsted plan for Baltimore's park system, and the Male/Female statue at Penn Station have in common? They're all projects of the Municipal Art Society. Founded in 1899 and still alive and well today, the Municipal Art Society has done more than any other citizen group in Baltimore's history to form the city and make it better. Charlie Duff, expert on Baltimore's design and development, will show us what the Society did in the past, and Antoinette Peele, the Society's current president, will tell us what they're working on now. You will be surprised to see how many things you take for granted were the work of this unstaffed group of private citizens.
