Encompassing 138 acres and containing extensive nature trails, the primary focus of this park is the museum highlighting the contributions of Benjamin Banneker, the first African American man of science. This site includes a visitors center, featuring a collection of Banneker's works, community gallery and patio garden. The museum also offers an extensive historical archive media presentations, storytellers and the North Star Gift Shop.
Originally the 1737 farmstead of a famous colonial family, today this Patapsco River Valley site presents an array of programs in cultural and natural history, serving local community and national heritage needs.
