Join the Polish Heritage Association of Maryland for their 50th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, September 7th from 4pm to 10pm at the Polish National Alliance Hall! This fantastic event celebrates the 50-year legacy of the Polish Heritage Association of Maryland (PHAM).
Guests can experience Baltimore’s exclusive screening of the critically acclaimed film The Peasants, meet and greet with esteemed authors from the Polish Heritage community, and participate in a silent auction featuring a 7-night stay in Poland. Plus, guests can tour the Henryk Sienkiewicz Polonia Library and enjoy exhibitions highlighting Polish heritage. Tickets are $20, with a wide selection of authentic Polish cuisine and beverages available for purchase.
The highlight of the evening will be the screening of The Peasants, a 2023 animated film for adults by the same team that produced Oscar-nominated Loving Vincent, about artist Vincent Van Gogh. The Peasants tells the tale of “a young woman determined to forge her own path within the confines of a late 19th century Polish village.” It is the story of the novel of the same name by Wladyslaw Reymont, which won the Nobel Prize in 1924.
