The “Resurrection” Symphony is truly a live concert experience like no other! No one explores the themes of life and death in music quite like Mahler, so when over 150 musicians take the stage, it promises to be one of the biggest events in the Orchestra’s history. Columbia Pro Cantare joins us in the work Jason Love calls, “a true heir to Beethoven’s Ninth.” Plus, the incredibly talented winners of our Young Artist Competition will amaze you with their performances.
The Washington Chamber Orchestra (WCO) presents benefit concert: "Food for the Hungry" on May 20th and 21st. For this special event, WCO has partnered up with Food for Hunger (FH), an international organization that provides food for those who are less fortunate and starving. The majority of proceeds generated from the concerts will be donated to FH.
In the fall of 1814, thousands of people came together on Hampstead Hill to defend Baltimore from a British attack. Today, the former fortifications are located in Patterson Park and topped by the charming Patterson Park Pagoda. After a short climb up the Pagoda’s winding iron stairs, you’ll enjoy a singular view of East Baltimore and learn the story of the Battle of Baltimore and War of 1812.
Help break the Guiness World Record for the longest game of telephone. Organized by Baltimore Artist Lexie Macchi, event features in-gallery presentations about the original Guinness Record set in Baltimore in May 1844.

A Day at the Races and Young Frankenstein: Two films released 37 years apart but united by remarkably similar senses of humor fueled by a uniquely Jewish perspective on mad doctors and mad love. The central characters of both movies blend predictable feelings of persecution with a healthy irreverence for convention and a disregard for stuffy authority.

Theodore S. "Ted" Davis, organist and choirmaster at Baltimore's St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, will present a concert on St. Mark's Lutheran Church's Patrick Murphy organ, featuring music of J.S. Bach and including audience participation as part of the program. In addition to being an active organ recitalist, Mr. Davis is also a harpsichordist, chamber music performer, conductor, and composer. He has achieved national recognition in organ-playing competitions. He is currently a doctoral candidate and teaching assistant at the Peabody Conservatory.

For the merry month of May, Charm City Baroque presents a refreshing cornucopia of 18th-century music redolent of the delights of Spring. Sacred cantatas by Bach and Telemann commemorate the Feast of the Holy Trinity, while sonatas by Tartini, Boyce, Domenico Scarlatti and others evoke the rustic and pastoral life. Concert is free of charge, but donations will be gratefully accepted.

Baltimore-based Deep Vision Dance Company (DVDC) seeks male and female modern
dancers for their 2016-2016 performance season. Candidates must show advanced
proficiency in modern dance as well as backgrounds in partnering, improvisation, and
collaborative processes. Full company and apprenticeship positions are available.
Accepted dancers begin in June 2016. Rehearsals are Mondays (6-10PM) and Sundays

Neville Dickie is one of the World's finest exponents of Stride piano and Boogie Woogie. Equally respected in Britain and the United States of America, he is one of the rare breed of British musicians who has managed to make a name for himself on both sides of the pond. His performance at Germano's will feature "Stride & Boogie Woogie", with tributes to Fats Waller, James P. Johnson, Albert Ammons, and many others.

Practicing mindfulness (the act of paying attention on purpose and nonjudgmentally) has been shown to lead to several positive health benefits, including decreased stress and increased positive coping abilities.
This presentation introduces several simple practices from the mindful parenting literature to increase positive ways of coping with stress associated with parenting children with special needs.
