Bright horns trumpet in spring with a trio of lively and beautiful works. Bach Cantata 51: Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen (Exult in God in every land) is the only work in Bach’s cantata catalog scored for a solo soprano and trumpet. It abounds with optimism and triumph. The work opens with a bravura aria for soprano trumpet and strings. The soprano and trumpet duetting is of the most brilliant sort, challenging both singer and instrumentalist to the utmost.
