Strand Theater Company presents:
In the current social and political climate, when our country is constantly in flux, what is it that makes us “American”? Is it our class? Our jobs? Our educational statuses? Is it the way we look? Who we love or worship? How we live our day-to-day lives? Or is it none of these things at all? In Where I Lie, The Oven Theatre Company explores how these questions influence the way we socialize through an in depth look into the lives of five Americans.

Immigrants have provided a continuous source of vitality and ingenuity to this country since its founding. He brings it to life through his family history, his book and recent stories he’s written for Bethesda Magazine. But part of the American legacy is also xenophobia and nativism, an impulse that breaks out periodically in our history and is part of our national life today.
