This year, Baltimore Architecture Month will host the first-ever DOORS OPEN BALTIMORE event! This year's theme is "Industrial Baltimore": learn more about buildings connected to Baltimore's industrial heritage and continuing legacy.
WHAT: Join the National Aquarium for its annual “Hallowmarine” celebration featuring Halloween-themed crafts, creepy-crawly animal encounters, a costume parade, and more! Guests are invited to dress up in costume and can also enjoy a lesson from National Aquarium experts about how to green your Halloween!
As with years past, the National Aquarium divers will do underwater pumpkin carving at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on both days in the Atlantic Coral Reef exhibit.
You're invited to our upcoming reception for “Artificial Light,” a photography exhibition by Duncan Madaris Hill, which focuses on spaces lit with artificial lighting. Meet the artist and enjoy refreshments at the opening reception: Friday, September 5, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

On October 25, Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace will host the 2nd Annual Harvest Maryland wine event from 11 am- 5 pm on the grounds of the farm. With the support of the Maryland Wineries Association and Harford County, seventeen Maryland wineries will be pouring their best wines and there will also be local food vendors, live music, educational farm activities and a Halloween costume contest for children. General admission tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the gate and include seven tastings with the option to buy more tasting tickets if needed.

Furniture making emerged as one of Baltimore’s most significant art forms from the end of the 1700s through the first quarter of the 19th century. Cabinet shops flourished throughout the bustling port city, the fastest-growing in the country, and there was great demand for "fancy furniture" by a newly rich mercantile elite eager to furnish their Federal-style houses in the latest fashions.

(71 minutes) Black women of the darkest hues share unfiltered and penetrating views about color in America in this documentary and emotional exposé. By co-directors and producers D. Channsin Berry and Bill Duke. Prior to the screening, Baltimore-based traditional contemporary dance company DishiBem gives a performance inspired by the film. A post-screening discussion is facilitated by EMPOWERTALK and Community Healing Network advocate Charlene Phipps. Teenage girls are encouraged to attend.

Local author and humorist, Michele “Wojo” Wojciechowski, will have a book-signing event at Ukazoo Books in Towson MD, Saturday, October 25, 2014.

The Johns Hopkins University Digital Media Center presents 'Digital Culture Jamming', a talk on creative digital media by Baltimore-based art-activist group FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture. Learn how FORCE uses digital pranks, internet memes and public installations to fight sexual violence and promote a culture of consent.

Dubbed a "quartet with a difference" by the Irish Times, the trailblazing Dublin Guitar Quartet is devoted exclusively to contemporary music. Since its 2002 formation at the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama, the ensemble has commissioned new work, adapted contemporary pieces not originally written for guitar, and broadened both its range and tuning capabilities through the use of eight- and eleven-string guitars, as well as specialized amplification.
Tom Hall leads the Baltimore Choral Arts’ Full Chorus and Orchestra in a program of classical masters including Beethoven’s Elegiac Song, and Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus. Tenor John Wesley Wright returns to Choral Arts, and joins other soloists in Bach’s Magnificat and Baltimore Symphony Principal Trumpet Andrew Balio and soprano Nola Richardson open the program with Bach’s Cantata No. 51, Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen.
