The Robert Hitz Studio is a multigenerational collective of musicians, singers, writers and performers. Studio members range from professionals to aspiring artists and young performers collaborating in shows, workshops, and events focused on community engagement, social transformation, and philanthropy.
Experience a fantastic journey around the globe through a violin recital with a theatrical twist. Four Strings around the World for solo violin features works inspired by the composers’ own ethnic heritage and expresses a variety of musical cultures and performance techniques. Featured are Bach’s Chaconne and Paganini’s Caprice No. 24, as well as two new works commissioned especially for this program by Indian composer Shirish Korde and Native American composer Jerod “Impichchaachaaha’” Tate.
Presented in collaboration with ethnomusicology Professor Lawrence Witzleben.
Pro Musica Rara, Baltimore’s premier early music ensemble, with guest artists Clara Rottsolk, soprano, and Stephen Bard, baroque oboe; Cynthia Roberts, Greg Mulligan, Ivan Stefanovic, violins; Sharon Pineo Myer, viola; Adam Pearl, harpsichord; and artistic director Allen Whear, cello.
Program: Johann Sebastian Bach, Wedding Cantata and a set of soprano arias; and instrumental works by Georg Phillip Telemann, Johann Pachelbel, and Johann Heinrich Schmeltzer.
T. Herbert Dimmock leads the Bach Concert Choir & Orchestra in a performance of J.S. Bach's Cantata 91: Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ featuring Bonnie McNaughton, soprano and Monica Reinagle, alto. On weekends, Milkshake is a rock band for kids that travels the country promoting their Grammy-nominated and award-winning CDs. During the school week, however, Lisa and Mikel delight in downsizing to an energetic duo that is perfect for an assembly setting. By using unique props and guiding audience participation, Milkshake produces a show that children truly feel a part of. Despite all the fun and silliness, Milkshake songs are best known for introducing children to basic concepts of creative thinking, as evidenced in their many songs for PBS KIDS and Nick Jr.

Join Chamber Encounters as they explore the deep connection between music and memories. HoCoPoLitSo’s guest for its annual Irish Evening McKeon is the award-winning writer and playwright Belinda McKeon. McKeon’s reading will be followed by Narrowbacks Eileen Korn Estes, Jesse Winch, Terence Winch, Linda Hickman, and Brendan Mulvihill in a concert of traditional Irish music, with stepdancers from the Culkin School. The Narrowbacks will be performing music from their newly released This Day Too: Music from Irish America with Terence Winch, Michael Winch, & Jesse Winch. Irish beverages and snacks will be offered for sale beginning at 7:00 p.m. and during intermission.
This Baltimore roots duo are known for their lush vocal harmonies and stellar musicianship. Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish share more than most couples. As the Honey Dewdrops, this Baltimore duo share stages from performance venues to festivals across North America, stretches of rolling, infinite roadway, and a lot of songs. They also share one mic and a hunger to pay attention to what endures.

Annapolis-based act Kings of Crownsville are a roots Rock band with a New Orleans flavor. The brainchild of New Orleans-raised guitarist/singer/songwriterSteve Johnson, the Kings play a rollicking, entertaining set that stirs Americana, Blues, and Jazz into the mix.
Their signature horn section transports listeners to the streets of the Big Easy, while they also add precise three- and four-part harmonies to their musical gumbo. Think Louis Armstrong meets Steely Dan.
