Gilded Lily Burlesque presents their 8th annual Valentine’s Day event, “TASSELS & CHAMPAGNE: THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK”, at The Creative Alliance on February 11, 2017 at 7:00PM and 10:00PM.

The whisper of a silk stocking, the slow peel of a glove, a seductive glance, a little bump n’ grind. Gilded Lily Burlesque transforms this year’s Tassels and Champagne into a classic burlesque show that pays nostalgic tribute to the Great American Songbook. From the bright lights of Broadway and the silver screen to the smoky lounges of Vegas, these songs are an integral part of both American music history and burlesque history. Ella Fitzgerald, Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday, and many more provided the soundtrack to yesterye...ar’s Golden Age of Burlesque and paved the way for today’s crooners and songbirds. Hosted by MC Jay and featuring headliner from NYC and co-founder of the touring group Twirly Whirly Burly-Q, Rosie Cheeks; members of Gilded Lily Burlesque: Maria Bella, Baltimore’s Sicilian Queen; DC’s own Chocolate That Melts Your Heart, GiGi Holliday; the Knockout of NoLa, Nona Narcisse; The Uncontainable Mourna Handful; and smouldering stage kittens Tempete La Coeur and Miranda Lookinglass.
