Fighting the culture of silence and censorship both on an off-stage, we begin a series of conversations and workshops with a screening & talk about the importance of "obscene" comedy pioneer Lenny Bruce.

Houston–based accordion ace and zydeco groover returns to the Patterson for a hard-hitting dance party! A son of the Louisiana cultural Diaspora, Ruben Paul Moreno grew up in East Houston and started playing at age ten when he was thrown on stage with his uncle, the zydeco great Leroy Thomas. Ruben then went on to tour with Roy Carrier and Clifton Chenier. Tonight Ruben brings his full band for a night of great, high-energy Louisiana dance music, which Ruben infuses with accents of blues and R&B. The dance floor is wide open.

The UMBC Department of Theatre presents Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, directed by Eve Muson, who sets this production of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies in 19th century Russia at Christmas time.
The National Aquarium presents a magical twist on a holiday classic this winter, as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4-D” makes a much-anticipated return to the National Aquarium’s 4-D Immersion Theater. The 4-D Immersion Theater brings Rudolph and friends to life, allowing visitors to get close to the sights and sounds of the action. The theater is equipped with 4-D capabilities, combining the excitement of a 3-D film with special sensory effects. Shows daily from November 10, 2017 to January 1, 2018.
From Irish step dancing lessons to puppetry and from traditional Irish food to authentic Celtic music, there is something for everyone at the 44th Annual Maryland Irish Festival set to take place on November 10-12, 2017 at the Timonium Fairgrounds from 6-11 p.m. on Friday; 12 noon – 11 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday from 12 noon - 6 p.m. There will be plenty of traditional Irish food & drink, internationally recognized musical groups, children’s activities, cultural exhibits from Ireland, festive contests, a speaker series and various vendors all contained in the spacious Cow Palace.
Join School 33 Art Center as they celebrate the opening of three new, unique exhibitions: Slow Form (School 33 Art Center's Juried Exhibition #2), featuring Mary Baum, Mollye Bendell, Kei Ito, Elizabeth Mead, Lake Newton, Nick Primo, Margaret Rorison, Matthew Sepielli, and Doohyun Yoon; Decompositions, a solo exhibition of works by Chris Zickefoose, and Lost Earring, an installation by Elliot Doughtie. Porch Setters Union is an alt/country/bluegrass band based in Baltimore Maryland. Vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Andy Belt is joined by his Black Friday bandmate, Shawn Heming, on mandolin, Warren Boes of All Mighty Senators and Boister fame on lead guitar, Dave Markowitz of the Bridge on bass, and Bald Mountain Band alum Tony Bonta on banjo and Jon Ackerman on dobro.

McDaniel College students perform vocal and instrumental solos of musical selections spanning from classical to contemporary.
Founded in 2013 by choreographer Soon-ho Park, Bereishit is a Seoul-based dance troupe that approaches the Korean traditional culture from a contemporary view – keeping the fundamental value of things, as opposed to simply borrowing or transforming them. The work also explores the issues of identity and transformation and delves into multimedia, street dance, community dance work and real time interactive demonstration.

The UMBC Department of Dance presents the Senior Dance Concert, featuring new works that explore the past, present, and future of the human experience through elaborate and exciting movement.

Baltimore's favorite gypsy jazz group, Hot Club of Baltimore, led by guitarist Michael Joseph Harris, will team up with up-and-coming Brazilian Saxophonist Michel Nirenberg, here in the US for a fall performing tour in the regions. He and Harris will play lively tunes from the gypsy jazz repertoire of Europe as well as the infectious , energetic music styles from Brazil, recalling Harris' alter ego as a Latin jazz guitarist in venues such as Bossa Bistro (DC). The band will include the highly talented Sami Arefin (guitar) and Shawn Simon (bass).

Hair Cuttery, the largest family owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, is hosting its Veterans Day Share-A-Haircut program on Saturday, November 11. For every haircut purchased at one of Hair Cuttery’s nearly 900 salons, one free haircut certificate will be donated to a veteran locally. Workshops typically run for three hours, but actitivies will not take the full time. Families are encouraged to pay what you can, and drop in at any point within this time perios to make something and take it home!
