Porch Setters Union is an alt/country/bluegrass band based in Baltimore Maryland. Vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Andy Belt is joined by his Black Friday bandmate, Shawn Heming, on mandolin, Warren Boes of All Mighty Senators and Boister fame on lead guitar, Dave Markowitz of the Bridge on bass, and Bald Mountain Band alum Tony Bonta on banjo and Jon Ackerman on dobro. Vocalist and songwriter, Andy Belt has picked up from where he left off with his critically acclaimed 2014 release of “Hungry for Bread” with Andy Belt & Friends and has joined with a veteran stable of musicians of diverse musical background to create a more contemporary musical offering while employing a standard traditional bluegrass instrumentation. While a bluegrass flavor is still on forefront of their musical cuisine, the Porch Setters do not hesitate to incorporate a more modern and eclectic taste in their sound, making them appealing to even the more mainstream musical consumer. May, 2017 marks the release of the Porch Setters Union debut CD “Farewell to Grapes on the Road.” This ten –song CD is a compact 30 minute musical adventure that will get your foot a tappin, and inspire a deep thought or two along the way.
