Enjoy an hour of zen, each and every Thursday afternoon in Preston Gardens. Instructors from Merritt Athletic will teach a FREE hour of yoga in the park. We will provide the zen, just bring a mat and some water. All skill levels are welcomed.
In this class, students explore the simplest of necklace structures, the chain, through a variety of techniques and materials. Students will learn about creating patterns and movement, as well as different methods for joining or constructing chain. Integrating clasps and findings will also be discussed. This class is appropriate for the beginning or more advanced student. Prerequisite: Intro to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience.
Artist and rogue taxidermist Robert Marbury will join Curator of Renaissance and Baroque Art Joaneath Spicer for a talk highlighting examples of taxidermy in the museum’s Chamber of Wonders. Following the talk, visitors are invited to join Bazaar Baltimore for an alternative taxidermy competition in the Sculpture Court.

The Maryland State Archives, in collaboration with Case[werks], LLC is extending their exhibit about Maryland’s rye whiskey industry that thrived for centuries until the early 20th century. The exhibit features some of the really interesting – and funny – names, labels, and bottles that were features of the state’s distilleries, the last of which went out of business in the 1970s.
This class familiarizes the beginning student with the basic tools of the jewelry studio. Through demonstrations slide presentations, group critique, and design work, students will gain confidence in their skills and will emerge from the course with 2 finished jewelry pieces and a greater understanding of the breadth of contemporary jewelry. Techniques covered include sawing, polishing, riveting, patination, and soldering. No experience necessary.

Baltimore playwright Peter Davis will present two of his Parlor Plays, “A Gathering” and “Bring A Shovel” on September 3 at 7 and 9 pm, September 4 at 7 and 9 pm, and September 5 at 7 and 9 pm, at Church and Company, 3649 Falls Road in Hampden. Parlor Plays debuted with two original productions in May 2014 and two more original plays in November 2014. Since then, Davis has invited actors and audience to read plays in progress. The upcoming plays are the result of this unique collaborative process.

Broadway actor, singer-songwriter Carla Bianco makes her Cabaret debut.
While attending New York University, Carla landed a publishing deal with Jellybean Benitez of Jellybean Productions, Madonnas producer, and had her first song, "Not This Time", released on Atlantic Records.

Celebrate the release of Spirit House, a continuation of Marian McLaughlin's musical partnership with double bassist and arranger Ethan Foote. Their work together represents an adventurous and original endeavor bringing together folk rock, chamber music, and lyrical vision.
