This class familiarizes the beginning student with the basic tools of the jewelry studio. Through demonstrations slide presentations, group critique, and design work, students will gain confidence in their skills and will emerge from the course with 2 finished jewelry pieces and a greater understanding of the breadth of contemporary jewelry. Techniques covered include sawing, polishing, riveting, patination, and soldering. No experience necessary.
