23rd Annual CityLit Festival

23rd Annual CityLit Festival

Baltimore-based CityLit Project is proud to partner with the Maryland Center for History and Culture (formerly the Maryland Historical Society) to present the 23rd Annual CityLit Festival, a free, day-long celebration of literature on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood. This year’s theme, Bearing Witness: Literature as a Revolutionary Act, highlights the essential role of writers in documenting truth, challenging dominant narratives, and creating space to speak out.

The festival will feature a dynamic lineup of author readings, book signings, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops designed for readers and writers at every stage. Anchored by this year’s theme, the program underscores the vital role of writers in shaping cultural dialogue and amplifying truth. Attendees can also explore a vibrant Literary Marketplace showcasing small presses, self-published authors, literary journals, and organizations serving the literary community, with books available for purchase throughout the day.
