(MASTER)MIND

(MASTER)MIND

(MASTER)MIND is a performance-based uninhibited liberatory sanctuary for reimagining resistance and resilience. In (MASTER)MIND, sound, spoken word, movement, and rhythm function interdependently as liberatory medicine—forms of protest, languages of resistance, and urgent calls from the Ancestors, Earth, and the community for us to organize and reshape our internal and external ecosystems.

The project activates performance offerings from Black, Queer, Indigenous, and Diasporic Artists as a medium/portal that allows us to gather and travel through temporal and spatial dimensions for collective imagination and re-envisioning, granting us passage to return to our truest nature- Harmony. By prioritizing marginalized voices, (MASTER)MIND aims to re-invest in matriarchal structures that center our collective experiences through care, cultivation, and nurturing.

Each (MASTER)MIND performance will stand alone but connect to the larger ideas of the series, contextually interrogating our community's historical and current socio political landscape. The performances will be documented through video and photography, with plans for a future space where these recordings will unfold over time in both physical and digital forms, remaining open to change. By creating an equitable space for radical expression & storytelling, skill sharing, cross-cultural exchange, and supporting Black, Queer, Indigenous, and Diasporic-owned businesses, (MASTER)MIND aims to be a sanctuary for community stewardship and resistance.
