District5 Wind Quartet: Exiled
In this program of twentieth century music, District5 connects the biographies of four composers whose lives were marked by the experience of exile. Though unified in their expatriation, each composer’s circumstances and reactions varied dramatically. From Paul Hindemith’s voluntary departure from Nazi Germany to Isang Yun’s multiple imprisonments, this concert presents exile with all its contradictions and complications.
