Originally introduced to the world as the front woman for the nu-disco band Escort, French-Caribbean singer and bassist Adeline (pronounced ad-uh-leen) is a prolific songwriter who also produces music as Nightshade with co-producer Morgan Wiley (Hercules & Love Affair, Midnight Magic). Adeline has toured globally, appearing with Anderson Paak, Lee Fields, Chromeo, Big Freeda, Natalie Prass and more, and has performed at Afropunk, Red Rock’s Funk on the Rocks and Winter Jazz Fest. When she’s not in the studio or touring her own music, Adeline also plays bass in CeeLo Green’s band.
Guitarist/composer Joel Harrison reunites his groundbreaking group Free Country this October. The concept for the band started in 2002 when Harrison released the first of three Free Country records on the Act label, in which he created radically creative jazz arrangements of country and Appalachian tunes. The success of the record, which included a then barely known singer named Norah Jones, brought Harrison acclaim throughout Europe and the U.S. In 2018 Harrison recorded the 3rd Free Country record with luminaries such as David Binney (his longtime ally), Brian Blade, and Jon Cowherd.
