Children ages 5 ½ to 12 are invited to audition for the 2021-2022 Conservatory Season! Young choristers attend live, small-group, fun music classes led by highly-trained instructors, all of whom hold master’s degrees in music education. Students participate in live choir rehearsals each week with our Artistic Director, one on one meetings several times during the semester for individualized feedback on singing development, plus tech-assisted, safely distanced in-person rehearsals as state guidelines allow.
Visit and shop galleries from 25+ artists during Columbia Festival of the Arts Virtual Fine Arts & Crafts Show. Showcasing juried artists from previous years’ LakeFest event representing a wide variety of media. Held annually the second weekend of June, the Invitational Fine Arts & Crafts Show has been part of CFA’s programming for more than 20 years and we are pleased to continue this tradition of giving artists the opportunity to still reach the greater CFA community despite limitations due to COVID-19.
“A Musical!” is Howard Community College’s 2021 mid-pandemic-produced, virtually-connected, musical extravaganza! The revue will feature HCC students and community members in a variety of musical theater numbers presenting songs that celebrate everyone's hope for the future.

The Baltimore Jazz Alliance (BJA) promotes and supports jazz in the Baltimore region for the benefit of both artists and audiences by presenting, educating, collaborating, and informing, to foster the rich legacy of jazz in the community. The Baltimore Jazz Alliance's Jazz for Kids Quintet, composed of Bob Jacobson (sax/clarinet), Rhonda Robinson (vocals/flute), Phil Ravita (bass), Russell Hayward III (drums) & Joshua Espinoza (piano) will play jazz for kids of all ages.
Columbia Festival of the Arts presents the 2021 Columbia Film Festival, June 21 – 25! This 4th annual Film Festival will showcase more than 60 local, national, and international films for movie-goers to enjoy as part of this year’s virtual event. Featured are a varied selection of films from all genres including short and feature-length movies, documentaries, world cinema, special themes, Maryland-based films, as well as works by student filmmakers that touch upon current and relevant topics.

Bassist Blake Meister is a provocative musician & composer who has worked with a range of virtuoso, jazz performers. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and earned a master's degree in orchestral performance from Catholic University's Benjamin T. Rome School of Music. Blake was on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music for a decade. Before that, he began as faculty and program director the for Peabody Preparatory division, where he founded the jazz department. He is one of the most in demand bassists in Baltimore.

We have extended our original deadline to open the opportunity to more artists in the area! This creative contest is called the Sonor Wines America - Music competition, where musicians of all genres will compete for prizes and the chance to have their music infused into wine! This is a juried show with an entry fee of $20 and is a tax-deductible contribution. Proceeds go towards the artist prize and also towards funding the wine festival post-pandemic.
