The City Of Baltimore Proclaims Never Give Up Day.
Please join us for a public Artist Reception for SPARK: New Light, on display at The Peale.
On Wednesday, September 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. (with some remarks shortly before 6 p.m.), enjoy food and drink while celebrating the artwork of two dozen UMBC and Towson University artists in partnership with PNC Bank, and celebrate the grand re-opening of The Peale.
Harpist Jacqueline Pollauf performs a program of French music, all related to the Paris Conservatoire, which was the center of the harp world for many years. Her concert will feature music by Gabriel Pierné, André Jolivet, Marcel Samuel-Rosseau, André Caplet, Marcel Tournier, and Pollauf’s own transcription of a work by Lili Boulanger.
Chesapeake Shakespeare Company and Single Carrot Theatre co-present a Hiring and Informational Expo for theatre teaching artists in the Baltimore area. The event will give an opportunity for professional and emerging teaching artists to interface with local theatre companies. Participants will receive information regarding each presenting theatre organization, including Chesapeake Shakespeare, Single Carrot, and others; as well as engage in an experiential demonstration of each company’s educational approaches.
In fall 2019, UMBC's Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery presented Experimentalist: The Art of Robert W. Fichter, the first retrospective of the artist’s career in over thirty years. We are pleased now offer this exhibition in an online version, available here.
